Tarrytown Honda Congratulates Dan Wheldon on his INDY 500 Win
TARRYTOWN, N.Y., May 31, 2011 – Tarrytown Honda is joining in the celebration of Dan Wheldon's amazing win at the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday. Wheldon drove a Honda engine all the way to victory in a dramatic championship finish.
In fact, for an unprecedented sixth consecutive year the entire 33-car starting field was powered by Honda engines.
"Indy winner Dan Wheldon has a long, proud history driving nothing but Honda engines and it has obviously paid off. Honda is world-famous for performance and reliability," said General Sales Manager for Tarrytown Honda, Chris Mendicina.
Honda engines power entire starting field
Mendicina also highlighted the fact that the entire starting field at Indy – Wheldon and 32 others – choose to drive with Honda engines for the 100th anniversary of the famous race. Even more remarkable, in a sport famous for its burnouts and breakdowns, not one of those Honda engines experienced a failure.
"Just imagine what a Honda engine can do for you when combined with our fun option packages and outstanding safety features," said Mendicina.
A Honda for everyone
He was referring to the news that the 2012 Honda Civic just received the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's coveted Top Safety Pick. The Civic was one of 10 small cars rated by the IIHS as the safest, along with having the highest fuel economy, in their class.
Clearly the professionals aren't the only ones with something to love about a Honda. The versatile new Civic comes in seven varieties for 2012 and the new Honda CR-V and Accord are getting rave reviews as well, proving that there really is a Honda for everyone.
